Example 1 (masculin / féminin singulier)

 

Il (elle) va parler plus tard ce soir.

He (she) is going to be speaking / is going to be talking later this evening.

He (she) is going to speak / is going to talk later this evening.

 

Special meaning when used with words like "quand, aussitôt que, dès que", etc. describing a future event:

 

Example 2 (masculin / féminin singulier)

 

Quand il (elle) va parler plus tard ce soir, …

When he (she) does speak / does talk later this evening, … (for emphasis, or negative) (Future event)

When he (she) is speaking / is talking later this evening, … (Future event)

When he (she) speaks / talks later this evening, … (Future event)
